The con was amazing. Got to go to a few panels and do some LARPing and, God, I spent way too much money. But there were also great people there. Got to meet Ethan's friends, and that was cool. Got to meet his folks. Actually, a lot of things. Met a lot of neat people.
Note to self: Holding shiny objects attracts anyone and everyone to you.
One of the high points of the weekend, though, was meeting Michael Whelan. I bought a bunch of his art and had him sign it all, had a lovely conversation with his wife. Both such very very nice people. He signed my dragon I bought at Franklin Mint ages ago, which was great too. They really were such nice people. Of course, there was a crowd once Michael Whelan got there, but it was nice just talking with his wife for a bit. She's a really nice lady. Anywho, lookie lookie! I remembered to get my picture taken with Michael Whelan while I was there!

Yeah. I got everything done I went there with plans to do. AKA getting things signed by Michael Whelan and Pete Abrams and getting a picture of me with Michael Whelan. I can't get over what incredibly nice guys they are. Not all hyped up on their achievements.
Anyway, the time was really great. The hotel room consisted of Trevor, Ethan, Leo (who demanded to sleep in the closet), Cody, RJ (I think his name was. If not, SO SORRY!), and myself. Quite a tight squeeze, but it worked out great. I think I only got about 6 hours of sleep over the weekend. Four the first night, two the other night.
All of Ethan's friends were really cool. I felt out of place now and then when the pink lemonade jokes got to slinging, that no matter how well they are explained, you really -did- have to be there to truly get the full beauty of it. But they were neat. We played Icehouse Zendo together and Icehouse Towers(You know. The game where you set up the pieces and slam your hand down on them all repeatedly. *grins*). But it reallywas a great time had by all.
And if none of you have seen The Gamers yet, go find a copy of it for it is necessary!
I would write down some of the jokes that came out of this weekend, but who knows who would get them and who wouldn't. It's cool though. It was a lot of fun, great for my second con ever.
Oh...and I met someone who is going to be a guest at Fantasm while I was there. Grabbed his email and all and we were going to start some correspondance before the con actually came to.
Actually, I met a lot of really neat people. And had a lot of people that wanted to hug me or other things. Go fig. I guess I'm just that awesome. *grins*
Anywho. I'll add more later. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
