Okay, for today I have some more Russian period garb that I worked on. I could use people's advice on what to use for a trim. I was thinking just something plain, but in any case... here are the newer items:

This is the full navershnik, and rubakha that I made. The navershnik (t-tunic/over dress) is made out of a table cloth I found at the salvation army that had a very soft and comfortable weave.

This is a svita (coat). I'm still not finished with the svita and this is my first attempt at making one. I used just a bunch of measurements and cut it to size, but this is basically what the svita will look like. I need frog closures for the top and a very thick but simple black belt, I think. I also want to get some fur for the lining/trim. I'll get to that soon, I hope. This was made out of a couch cover.

This is basically the full outfit with the addition of the straw hat and head covering for working outside.

This is the first zapona I made. The zapona is much like an apron, just draping over the shoulders and held together only by a belt around the waist. Very easy to make, but this one is a little too short and I'm just not happy with it. But it was my first attempt.

This is a panova, which is kind of like a different type of apron. I just used scrap fabric to make this one. It is basically three panels of fabric that are sewn to a cloth belt and tied about the waist. It is usually worn undeneath either a navershnik or panova. I don't have pictures of it like that, though.
Well, that is all the Russian garb for right now. I'm going to work on making a dress out of t-shirts tomorrow. Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated.
