We woke up on time. I got ready on time. I was ready to head out the door. Chris was looking out at the rain and opened the basement door. He took about five steps before darting up the door and bolting to grab his cell phone upstairs. Flooding. We had about 2-3 inches worth of flooding in the basement. anyone that has had this before knows of the misfortune it can cost. But what makes it worse is that we just moved in in January, so we have things in the basement that we can't unpack until we get the furniture.
Luckily all we lost were about 8 books. Unfortunately, one of them meant a lot to me.
It could have been worse though. We made it with our lives. We made it with everything that really means something to us. The cats are okay and no weird electrocution went on. So yay. We are alive. And boo. House flooding sucks.
